At Brush Creek, we appreciate our involved parents and community members. We also enjoy broadcasting our latest news and information here on our News page. We’ll chronicle school activities and student achievements and publish announcements. We’ll also offer helpful resources and information. So check back often; we’ll update this page regularly.

Christmas Gifts for Teachers

Brush Creek Elementary teachers and staff would like to thank the parents and students for understanding the request for cards only at Christmas. Your continued support is the best gift we could receive. 

Winter Break

Winter break begins on Monday, December 24 and continues through Friday, January 4. School resumes on Monday, January 7. We wish you and your families a safe and enjoyable holiday season!

Pictures and Videos

Brush Creek Elementary has many programs and activities throughout the year that involve taking pictures and videos. We will randomly select different pictures and videos to share with our community. If you do not want us to share pictures or videos of your child, please send a written request in to Mr. Bowman. Thank you!

Candy Cane Sales

The student council will be selling candy canes on December 14, 17, and 18. The candy canes are $.25 each. Thank you, student council, for this sweet treat!

BCE Winter Concerts

Our winter concerts will be on Thursday, December 18. The kindergarten concert will be at 6:00 p.m., and the first and second-grade concert follows at 7:00 p.m. Please join us for this festive evening where our students show off their talents. It’s a great way to get in the holiday spirit!

Important Message for Parents

According to legislation from the Indiana Department of Education, each public school shall provide age-appropriate instruction on child abuse and child sexual abuse to students in kindergarten through grade 12. This instruction will be during the month of December in Jennings County Schools. The Protect Yourself Rules website will be the basis for instruction in our elementary schools. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Affordable Christmas 2018

This program is providing families a way to purchase items at reduced prices. This event will be Saturday, December 15 at 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Jennings County Community Building.

Canned Food Drive Competition

Congratulations to Ms. Burton’s class for winning the canned food competition with 1,004 cans! The total amount of cans collected is 2,510. Way to go BCE!

Change in Routine

Busy lives mean schedules can change. If you have a change to the normal dismissal routine for your child, you must send in a signed note to your child’s teacher stating the change. Please note, we do not accept phone messages.


Any medications that the school administers during school hours or at school functions for students in grades K–12, we will only release these medications to the student’s parent or designated individual who is 18 years of age or older. For us to release medications to the designated individual, we must have a notice in writing, by the student’s parent/guardian authorizing the individual to receive the medication.

Kindergarten Round-Up

Kindergarten round-up dates for 2019 are now out! Join us at Brush Creek Elementary on April 5, 2019, from 9:00–11:00 a.m. or 12:00–2:00 p.m. We hope to see you there!
