Our staff has worked together to create our panthers prepare and care plan to respond to how our district will address health, safety, curriculum and instruction, social-emotional learning, and equity while offering both traditional and remote learning options.

Please check our district Home page for all the latest information you need for a great school year.

Title 1 Information

Speak up if something doesn’t feel right. Parents are often the first ones to recognize a problem. If you have concerns about your child’s development, please speak with your child’s teacher and your pediatrician. It’s never too early to check in with an expert.

For medications that our school possesses for administration during school hours or at school functions, please note the following for students in grades K through 12:

  • We will only release medications to the student’s parent or to an individual who is 18 years of age or older.
  • Parents or guardians must designate permission in writing that the medication may be released.

Thank you for working with us to keep our students healthy and safe!

Change in Routine Notes

If you need to change the normal dismissal routine for your child, please send in a signed note to your child’s teacher stating that change. We will not be able to accept phone messages. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!

Any time a student is going to be absent from school, parents and guardians are responsible for calling the school and reporting the reason for the student’s absence. Please note that students who are absent the entire day the day before a field trip, for reasons other than a pre-arranged appointment or a pre-approved absence, will not be able to go on the field trip.

Parents’ Right-to-Know

In accordance with the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Section 1111(h)(6) Parents’ Right-to-Know, this is a notification from Jennings County School Corporation that every parent of a student in a Title I school has a right to request and receive information in a timely manner, regarding the professional qualifications of his or her student's classroom teacher which shall include the following:

  • If the teacher has met the state qualification and licensing criteria for the grade level and subject they teach.
  • If the teacher is teaching under emergency or temporary status in which Indiana waives the requirement for certain qualifications and licensing.
  • The teacher's baccalaureate degree major, graduate certification, and field of discipline.
  • Whether the student paraprofessionals provide the student services, and if so, their qualifications. If at any time a teacher that is not highly qualified has been teaching a Title I student for four or more consecutive weeks, the school will notify the parent of this information.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Title I director, at (812) 346-4483. All of Brush Creek’s teachers are state licensed and qualified to teach in their given positions.

Pictures/Video at BCE

Brush Creek Elementary has many programs and activities throughout the year that involve taking pictures and video. We will randomly select different pictures and videos to share with our community. If you do not want pictures or videos of your child shared, please send a written request in to Ms. Jones.

Box Tops

Box Tops have gone digital! Download the app, Box Tops for Education, and under settings you can select Brush Creek Elementary. You can see what items earn box tops, scan your receipt, and earn without cutting a thing! Mrs. Hoffman will be taking Box Tops this school year, so students can still turn them in to her as well.

Bus Information

Due to COVID and contract tracing requirements, students are only allowed to ride their assigned bus. They cannot ride different buses with friends or other family members. Thank you for your cooperation
